Luxurious apartment in the historical center of Ljubljana.
A luxurious, spacious apartment in the old centre of the capital, in the recognizable Schweiger House with a Rococo façade, which represents the pinnacle of Baroque architecture in the city and is one of the most beautiful Baroque palaces in Ljubljana.
The apartment is located on the third floor of the apartment building, which, according to GURS, was built in 1630, without an elevator and has a total area of 325.0 m2, of which 304.9 m2 is usable space.
The apartment has high ceilings, which creates a feeling of spaciousness and luxury. The Schweiger House, which was renovated between 1748 and 1749 by the famous architect Candido Zulliani, has retained an almost intact external and internal layout. Experts classify it as one of the most important examples of secular Baroque architecture in Ljubljana. After the catastrophic earthquake of 1895, the house remained completely undamaged and was the only one of the houses designed by Zulliani in Ljubljana. In the 1960s, the building was completely renovated and strengthened against earthquakes, which is unique among the buildings of the old town microlocation.
The apartment was completely renovated in 2011. (floor coverings, electrical and plumbing work, radiators).
The apartment has a varied and functional layout, the rooms follow each other in the following order:
From the staircase of the building there is a first entrance that leads to a spacious vestibule, which leads:
- - to the right into the living room, from which there is an exit to the bedroom;-
- on the left is a kitchen with a dining room, a bathroom and a spacious bedroom;
- - then leads to a storage room, and to the right into another spacious room.
You can get to the second part of the apartment from the first through a room or through a separate entrance, the exit to which is through the internal balcony:

- There is also a separate toilet on the inner balcony.
In a small part of the apartment, exceptional oak parquet has been preserved, and in the main part, new parquet flooring was laid during the renovation. Individual rooms are heated by electric radiators. The apartment has preserved many elements of the late Baroque and stucco, which add historical value.
For several decades, the Schweiger House was owned by the noble Slovenian poet Lili Novy, who lived there her entire life and is immortalized by a bust by the sculptor Ljuj Vodopivec at the entrance to the building.
The facade of the Schweiger House is richly decorated with stucco and stonework details, including projecting window frames, a balcony with wrought iron railings and an entrance portal. Above the portal is a bust of Atlas with his index finger on his lips, and under the cornice in the façade are the coats of arms of the nobleman Schweiger and his wife, who ordered the construction of this palace.
The interior of this famous Baroque palace is decorated with stucco ceilings, an interesting staircase and parts of the original interior decoration. The Schweiger Palace, or Lili Novy House, is not only an architectural monument, but also a historical and cultural one, closely associated with the Austro-Hungarian court, Prešeren and a number of outstanding cultural figures of Slovenia and Austria.
The construction design of the apartment offers several important advantages.
Thanks to three exits to the internal balcony, the apartment can be converted into several apartments, which, in addition to bourgeois life, provides an excellent opportunity for investment and rental.
