The French authorities propose to introduce a 5-year visa, which will be valid for all foreigners who have real estate in this country. Senators, for the most part, support this initiative.

There is no information yet about when this visa will be effective. But it is known that it will allow owners of a second home to visit France for 5 years, with the ability to stay up to 6 months for each entry.

Note that this measure is not related to the 90-day limit, which is stipulated by the Schengen visa.

Currently, second-home owners must apply each time they plan to stay in France for more than 4–6 months, and of course, this process is costly.
