The length of the canal that connects the Vileyskoye and Zaslavskaya reservoirs is 62 kilometers. For 50 kilometers, the water gradually rises to a height, overcoming the hilly terrain with the help of pumping stations.
And in the area of Vyazynka, the relief is changing, and the water already flows freely along the channel towards Minsk. And here we need not pumps, but a means of braking. And it is the rapid currents that solve this problem. They are trays with reinforced concrete ribs along the bottom and a water-breaking well at the end.
