Toscolano-Maderno is a corner of paradise surrounded by all the comforts a family needs. In fact, in the nearby we can find several bars, hotels, shops, restaurants, supermarkets, shopping centers, tourist villages, campsites, riding, sailing and windsurfing schools, and golf courses.
The municipality of Toscolano-Maderno is located on the western shore of Lake Garda and consists of the merger of the towns Toscolano and Maderno, autonomous municipalities until 1928 and divided by the Toscolano stream.
Toscolano-Maderno is part of the Alto Garda Bresciano regional park and in the Middle Ages Maderno had a great political and administrative impact. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the Dukes of Mantua had their summer residence in the Gonzaga Palace and the Villa del Serraglio.
From the 14th century onwards, the paper industry developed in the gorge of the small Toscolano river, which is why this stretch of the valley is known as the 'Valley of the Paper Mills', a veritable open-air museum that boasts a beautiful walk that can be taken at any time of year.
A ferry service carries cars and connects Maderno with Torri del Benaco, located on the opposite side of the lake. Lake Garda also enjoys a privileged position, being easily accessible from the Brenner motorway (A22), the Milan-Venice motorway (A4), as well as from the airports of Bergamo, Verona, Milan and Venice.
