next to the first casino in the UAE, Wynn Al Marjan Island Resort –, a complex with a casino, the construction of which is underway on the island of Al Marjan in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
The doors of the resort will not open until 2027, however, renderings make it clear that it will become a new architectural landmark in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Wynn Resorts, the resort in Ras Al Khaimah will have an area of 18,500 square meters. m and will be larger than a similar casino hotel in Las Vegas.
The construction cost is estimated at 14 billion dirhams, Wynn Al Marjan Island Resort will offer 1,500 rooms, suites and villas to accommodate guests, and will operate 24 restaurants, shops and spas.
The resort will be intended for both one-day visits and multi-day stays. In particular, in the evenings, guests will be treated to ultra-modern laser and light show performances.
Wynn Al Marjan Island Resort will be the first hotel with a casino in the UAE and, according to experts, will change the rules of the game in the Ras Al Khaimah tourism market.
Tourist flow targets previously set by the local Tourism Development Authority amount to 3 million tourists. Thanks to the opening of the new resort, the emirate will not only receive more tourists, but can also expect a general economic recovery.
The largest increase in tourist flow is expected in the year the resort opens. In 2027, Ras Al Khaimah could be visited by 3.8 million tourists. Thus, the average annual growth rate will be 28% compared to 2022. Don't forget that the resort will help create a large number of new jobs.
Currently, the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is updating the legislative framework and writing gambling laws, taking as a model the rules in force in Singapore and the United States.
The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has created a new department to regulate «gaming establishments», which will deal with licensing, taxation, operations and consumer protection issues.
