Turkish regulator SPK has initiated the liquidation of 131 funds managed by seven asset management companies, Bloomberg reports.

📉 The issues arose among funds invested in low-liquidity stocks. Since late August, investors have withdrawn 600 billion lira. The SPK instructed liquidator banks to sell off assets and return capital to investors, while extending the liquidation timeline from 3 to 6 months.

✅ According to current data, the troubled entities do not include real estate or venture capital funds through which foreign nationals acquire citizenship by investment.
