Mr. Zelensky proposed to ease the entry conditions to Ukraine for citizens of Belarus
The entry to the territory of Ukraine for citizens of Belarus will be eased soon. President Vladimir Zelensky made this proposal at a meeting dedicated to the COVID-19 situation. During the meeting, the requirements for entry to Ukraine for foreign citizens were discussed. Due to the increased spread of the coronavirus, the Ukrainian government has compiled a list of red-zone countries. It includes countries for which entry requirements will be tightened in the next 30 days.
Relaxation of the rules for citizens of Belarus
Despite the strict measures of the quarantine period Vladimir Zelensky proposed to simplify the rules of entry to Ukraine for Belarusians. According to the president, this sensitive issue should be taken seriously, especially in light of the difficult current political situation in Belarus.
Starting from August 1, in Ukraine, all foreign countries were classified into red and green zones. The status is assigned depending on the coronavirus situation in a particular country. Now, Belarus is included in the green list, which allows its citizens to enter Ukraine with relaxed requirements. More specifically, after crossing the border, Belarusians are not subject to a two-week quarantine and are not required to get a PCR test for the coronavirus infection.
