Picturesque place on the banks of the Lielupe River in Asari (Valteri) Urban communications are all around. Asari is a part of Jurmala, located 28 km from Riga, formed on the territory of the former fishing village of Sausi. This place has its present name since the 19th century (the name comes from the house of Asarov). Construction began in the second half of the 19th century. The place is famous for its strawberries. For the first time strawberries were planted here in 1877 - it was brought from France by the owner of the cottage Cortasi. In the 30s, Asari was a favorite vacation spot for wealthy Riga residents.
