In Finland, an ultramarine cottage with rooms in rainbow colours sells for €22,000
The festivities have taken over cities around the world: lights are glowing, Christmas markets are opening, and everyone is willy-nilly waiting for miracles and presents. In this mood, even houses seem a little magical. Especially a bright blue cottage, where every room is painted a different colour of the rainbow. And this is the house for sale in Finland. Maybe it used to be the home of a wizard. Or at least an elf?
A cottage for sale in the southwestern Finland region of Pirkanmaa catches the eye immediately. The first thing that draws your attention is the facade, painted a bright ultramarine colour. The picture is completed with red gates, doors, and window trim. The house stands out against the grey autumn-winter landscape.
But that’s not all. If you look inside, it becomes even more interesting, because the house rooms are painted in just as bright colours. The bedroom is bright pink and the stove is green, the living room is white, but the stove is painted bright green, another room is ultramarine to match the facade, and the second bedroom is soft pink. The kitchen, combined with the dining area, is decorated in relatively calm yellow-brown tones.
The house is relatively small — the total area of the cottage is 120 sq.m., with a useful area of 77 sq.m. The layout includes 3 rooms, a kitchen-dining room, and a pantry. As the house is Finnish, it has a sauna, of course. The heating is electric and wood, and there are fireplaces and stoves in the rooms.
The listing specifies that the house is located at the end of a dead-end street, which means it is a secluded spot. The land area is 1,600 sq.m., and judging by the photos, there are beautiful spruces and birches growing right on the plot. They fence the house off from the field nearby.
The plot is fenced on one side, with several fruit trees and bushes. You can see an earthen cellar, the roof of which is painted the same colour as the cottage itself, and an old barn which has somehow remained the same colour.
The house is only about 2 kilometres from the nearest shop and 372 kilometres from the Russian border.
The advertisement says that the house needs renovation. But as the holidays are coming, we want to believe that a wizard or at least an elf used to live in such a brightly coloured cottage. And even if not, a creative person certainly did.
