Starting May 1st, Thailand officially transitions to using digital arrival cards — the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC). Previously, travelers were required to fill out a paper-based TM.6 form, which slowed down the immigration process due to manual handling.

Now, all foreign nationals entering Thailand by air, land, or sea must complete a TDAC. Exceptions include travelers in transit who do not pass through immigration control and those entering under a Border Pass agreement. Without a TDAC, entry into the country will not be processed.

The form must be completed on the official website of Thailand’s Immigration Bureau no earlier than three days before your arrival date. It requires basic information such as passport details, travel purpose, accommodation in Thailand, and a short health declaration.
Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing either the completed TDAC or a QR code linked to it. This document or QR code must be presented to the immigration officer, either digitally or in print, upon arrival.

Previously, the Thai government also announced plans to launch an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system and a tourist entry fee of 300 baht (approximately $10). However, the implementation of these initiatives has been postponed to prioritize the shift toward digitizing the arrival process.
