The Ascañano estate consists of a group of historic buildings located on a plateau towering over the entire Upper Tiber Valley in Umbria.
The estate includes a medieval castle of the XI century, a villa of 1600-1800, an annex for guests, a church, a greenhouse, two farmhouses and a park of about 3.5 hectares with a horse stable, a swimming pool with a gazebo, a tennis court and a covered area with a barbecue.
The 800-square-meter medieval castle has preserved all the architectural features of that period and is connected to the villa by an underground tunnel.
The villa is in good condition. Among the frescoes of the interiors there are also several valuable works of art.
In addition to antique furniture and paintings, there is a catalogued collection of Etruscan artifacts, as well as a room painted with frescoes by Gerardo Dottori, a famous artist of the futuristic movement.
The floors and architectural masonry are of historical value, some dating back to the eighteenth century.
The interior layout of the villa:
On the ground floor there is a living room with kitchen, lounge rooms, library and study.
On the second floor there is a sleeping area with main bedrooms, bathrooms and a living room.
There is direct access to the garden, as well as to the old stables, which are now used as an entertainment area.
On the third floor there are additional bedrooms and bathrooms.
In the garden in front of the main entrance to the villa there is a small church painted with frescoes, as well as a greenhouse overlooking the Italian garden.
In a fully fenced park, centuries-old plants and trees of various breeds grow, such as sequoias, cedars, oaks.
A swimming pool, a tennis court (basketball court), a football field, a covered area with a barbecue, a locker room, stables and a riding school are functioning.
The remaining buildings with a total area of 2000 square meters are also part of the historic estate and are located in the park. These rooms are now used to accommodate guests, service personnel, as basements and warehouses.
