Montis Hotel and Residences is located in Kolasina, Montenegro’s busiest mountain town, a popular summer and winter tourist destination.
Kolasin is located at an altitude of 954 m on a plateau between two magnificent mountain ranges - Belasitsa and Sinyaevina. Isolated from the busy traffic on the main road Kolasin-Mojkovac and just a 15-minute walk from the city center, this site is ideally located surrounded by lush emerald forest and surrounded by a healthy mountain breeze.
The country’s biggest investment project is a new highway connecting Kolasin to the capital, Podgorica, due to be completed in 2021, reducing travel time between the two by less than 30 minutes. Along with Zabljak, Kolasin is one of only two winter sports destinations in the country and there is a rapid development of infrastructure. The city’s existing ski area is the first in the country to offer modern amenities for winter sports. Currently, 46 km of ski slopes have been laid at the Kolasin ski resort. It is expected that by the end of 2021, another 15 km will be built, and in the near future it is planned to expand to 125 km or more.
Direct views of the Bjelasica mountain range, secluded and untouched nature largely influenced the architecture of the hotel. Montis Hotel and Residences consists of 238 units, including restaurant, conference rooms, cinema, pub and SPA, indoor and outdoor pool, children's club, ski room and garage. The architectural idea was to create a new standard of modern design, corresponding to the context of the mountainous region. The hotel’s large conference room, which can accommodate up to 400 visitors, is complemented by two small conference rooms with a capacity of 50 seats. In addition to the city’s cultural amenities, the hotel features a fully equipped 3D cinema, seating up to 72 visitors. Apart from the cinema, the hotel's 120-seat pub is also designed for daily guests. As a unique design element above most of the ground floor is the hotel “platform”, designed for various types of cultural, entertainment or private hotel events, the meeting place and the city garden for hotel guests, an elevated platform with beautiful views of the Tara River and the lush massif of Bjelasica.
