The number of foreigners with residence permits in Poland has tripled since a year ago. In terms of immigration, Poland is ahead of all EU countries.

Now there are 1.66 million people with residence permits in Poland. Most of them (1.36 million) are Ukrainians. They are followed by Belarusians, Georgians, Russians, Germans, Indians, and Vietnamese.

Grounds for all are different: the majority of Ukrainians are in Poland on the basis of temporary protection; 487 thousand foreigners received a temporary residence permit for up to three years (mainly after finding a job in Poland), another 127 thousand already have a permanent residence permit or a long-term EC residence permit.

It should be noted that in recent years, the level of immigration in Poland is off the scale — in 5 years, the country has issued more primary residence permits to non-EU immigrants than any other EU member state.
