Description

Foligno, Umbria - Perugia: This ancient fortress is located in one of the valleys of the Apennine Range at the confluence of two sources, in Umbria, not far from the settlement with all household services. & nbsp; & nbsp;   The property includes & nbsp; an old wall with a fortress, the ruins of various rear buildings for reconstruction, an observation tower and a private chapel, have now been completely restored, as reported by Miel "Office on Petrovka." & nbsp; Inside, the complex is dominated by a majestic pentagonal masonry tower, with a serrated crown and a height of 32 m. & nbsp;   The fortress was erected by an aristocratic family from Foligne in the first half of the 14th century on top of a gentle hill surrounded by cypresses, close to a generous watercourse protecting a valley considered strategically important. & nbsp; The horseshoe structure repeats the natural shape of the hill, with a high tower at the head. & nbsp; Only minor ruins have survived from the once high walls, despite all the diligence of the aristocratic family from Foligne on their non-disposable fortification, starting with & nbsp; 16th century. & nbsp;   Miel "Office on Petrovka" draws attention to the fact that the itinerary of travel to the heart of Italy, covering the art, culture of winemaking and good food, does not bypass the castle & laquo; Castello Torrito & raquo;, located at the intersection of the routes of Rome, Florence and the Adriatic coast, not bypassing & nbsp; and such the most important centers located in the District evo, FalSassie, Sple, like GuBbisse, Spalo, Spalge   The vehicle can be parked in the backyard of the tower. Here & nbsp; is an additional entrance that & nbsp; crosses the wall from the inside and leads to the & nbsp; main passage leading to the central chapel and the & nbsp; garrison connected by a staircase to the terrace leading to the tower. & nbsp;   The chapel was returned to the original aspect, thanks to the restoration, which & nbsp; removed the layer of plaster from the walls, which made it possible to discover & nbsp; in addition to the most beautiful & nbsp; tile vaults, part of the & nbsp; 14th century cross crucifix in the restoration stage. & nbsp;   The garrison has two levels connected by an internal staircase: a basement with a room for the disabled with an entrance from a branch of the central passage that does not have architectural barriers & nbsp; and the first floor occupied by a kitchen. & nbsp;   The room, characterized by ceilings with a transverse crossbar made of wood, in its setting & nbsp; has an old bench decorated with plant elements typical of the Baroque period; a cabinet made of nut wood and oak of certain strength. & nbsp;   The toilet, covered with the old majolica of the end of 1700, has all the necessary comfort and meets all the requirements of the & nbsp; disabled. All rooms have a separate heating and cooling system to the desired temperature, thanks to the floor heating and & nbsp; ventilation, showers & nbsp; extremely relaxing, due to the presence of injection groups of cold or hot water under high pressure. & nbsp;   The kitchen & nbsp; in the cold season can also serve as a dining hall, due to the considerable space available, characterized by collections of copper utensils and ceramics, exposed along the walls, thus creating a warm atmosphere. & nbsp; At the exit of the kitchen there is a terrace decorated with clay & nbsp; pots, tables and chairs for outdoor surroundings, necessary for a full rest in summer evenings, or as a solarium in the daytime. & nbsp;   The wooden staircase leads to the door of the tower, which in view of its defensive purpose is extremely reduced in size and is made of facing stone, refined processing, & nbsp; reminiscent of the era of construction. & nbsp;   The main attention in the living room & nbsp; attracts a monumental fireplace, with adjacent on both sides church shops of the end of 1600. & nbsp; From this room, a wooden staircase goes down to the lounge, which has an internet line, TV, stereo, sofas and chairs for reading, relaxing or & nbsp; conversation and in a large company, which the number of seats allows to do with ease. & nbsp;   The fourth floor is occupied by the first bedroom of the tower, which has all the amenities, with a style setting of the end of 1700. & nbsp;   On the fifth floor there is a second bedroom, very similar to the first in terms of size and environment, which differs in attic coverage, in this case with a vault of stone and brick, in another transverse crossbar. & nbsp;   On the sixth floor there is a third bedroom, the room was previously a shelter from bad weather for soldiers in a watch on top of the tower. Despite the more modest size in height and area, the room is especially charming, thanks to the outdoor aisle/terrace, which offers unparalleled views of the castle and valley. & nbsp;   The conservative restoration brought back the life of & nbsp; this magnificent fortress with a newly erected tower, chapel & nbsp; and defensive wall. & nbsp; There are other buildings for residential construction, with a total area of approximately & nbsp; 570 sq.m. & nbsp;   Ownership complements a plot of land of 4 hectares and approximately & nbsp; 470 olive trees.
