Almyrida (also spelled Almyrida or Almerida) — seaside resort located 22 km east of Chania in Crete.
This beautiful location is relatively close to the city of Chania, and this combination makes Almyrida an ideal destination for both a day trip from Chania and an extended summer holiday. The lush hills of the Apokoronas region meet the azure waters of the sea at Almyrida Beach. A beautiful sandy beach lined with trees and a picturesque small harbor with fishing boats and other sea-going vessels create a unique landscape. Opposite the beach there is the island of Karga, and behind it, if you look to the north, you can see the coast and hills of the Akrotiri peninsula, and in the south rise the mountains of western Crete — White Mountains.
