ABOUT OIL
Oaks - village in Alytus district municipality, 7 km northwest of Simnas, south of Lake Žuvintas. It's the center of the Old Year. There's a medical point and a library. Bambena, the middle of the gift, flows through the village. Oaks were beautifully managed by the central settlement of the farm.
1923 Oaks primary school, seven years old, eight years old, incomplete secondary school, nine years old, since 1993 Simnas High School, closed in 2007.
Oaks are written in the general encyclopaedia, the tourist guide "After the Metels- The edge of the dead," contains information on the Internet, in periodicals. You can read about the mound in the books "Alytus district mounds," in the book of Petras Biržis, dedicated to Alytus district, from the series "Lithuanian cities and towns," in the book "Our Lithuania" of the landscape scientist Brotherhood.
On the left bank of Bambena there is a mound of Bambarians (Dambavaragis, Oaks, Oak horn). Piliakalnis and Oaks ancient settlement are kept by the state. The pavement is steep, 6-7 m high. Its lot is oval, 17 m long and 25 m wide. On the south and west edge there is a 3-year drop. Archeological research in 1954 and 1962 revealed the remnants of the ancient settlement, the sticky and rough surface of the mound and the pottery of the winter. The speaker used from the middle of the first thousand to the beginning of the 2nd thousand. The findings are stored in the Lithuanian National Museum.
There is an old wind mill in Ažuliai from the 19th century to the 20th century BC.
