Dračevica is a place on the northwestern part of the island of Brač, in the interior of the island. It is located on the road from Nerežišće to Milna. Administratively, it belongs to the municipality of Nerežišća.As a place, it was created late, and by Polish refugees who, by decision of the Venetian administration on 12.31.1574. inhabited Brač.The new local church, dedicated to Saints Kuzma and Damjan, is a protected cultural asset, and was founded in 1678 by Kuzma Žuvić. Construction of the church began in 1674, after Kuzma Žuvić obtained a permit from the Venetian senate.Another church built in 1770, the Church of the Immaculate Conception, is located in the village.Above the headland on the north-eastern side of the town, proudly stands the largest Brač windmill from the 18th century, another monument of the agricultural settlement, which in the past was a vine and olive grove.
Dračevica is a harmoniously built place where wide roads spread like rays from a spacious local square in the middle of which is a square.Almost every house has its own well, not counting the many vaulted thickets in the vineyards and fields. No other place on the island has such a number of wells.
Dračevica is represented by its white harmoniously arranged houses as a flock of turtle doves dozing in the afternoon sunshine on a gentle clearing. Alone and left as if she were prolonging the dream for herself. An intimate island seclusion of peace and relaxation.
