Description

A Renaissance building on an area of 900 square meters is located on the island of & Scaron; ipan, the largest among Elaphite Islands in the Dubrovnik Archipelago, on an area of 3,288 square meters. It is the only fully preserved building with characteristics of the typical rural architecture of Dubrovnik in Croatia, renovated with authentic materials and rich in stone and wood details from the 16th. Century. The manor house was built in 1563 by Vice Stjepović-Skočibuha, a shipbuilder from Dubrovnik. On the island & Scaron; ipan has 42 old villas and 34 sacred buildings, regardless of the fact that the island covers only 16 km2. The property includes the main building, annex, a defensive tower, a garden and the consecrated chapel of St. Thomas with original artifacts. The property is surrounded by a high defensive wall with a view of the remains of the oldest manor house on the island. The main building consists of a ground floor and the first floor, with an identical arrangement of the rooms & ndash; a pompous park, which is surrounded by four rooms through its sides. On the first floor there is a balcony with the original wooden fence, absolutely unique of this kind, which has been preserved in the Dubrovnik area. The property is covered by a Renaissance garden that has been renovated according to authentic records by chroniclers and writers. It covers two floors and extends over sidewalks. The auxiliary rooms that were originally used by a teacher priest are actually a castle or loggia consisting of a priest & rsquo; s room with the authentic 450 year old window. From the loggia you can reach adjoining rooms that used to be taverns, storage rooms and cisterns, while there is a holiday home with an attached oil mill on the edge of the property, there is currently a restaurant in it. The property includes a defense tower on three floors, built in 1577, connected to the manor house by a drawbridge. The tower has a cistern, a fireplace, built-in cupboards and toilets.
