In Poland, fuel and gas prices are rising at an unprecedented rate. How does the country plan to deal with the energy crisis?

Polish society has a right to know reliable information, and it is as follows: the country is experiencing a serious energy crisis. This was stated by Jacek Szymczak, President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Heating. Due to this, in a number of cities the temperature in the apartments will be lower by 2 degrees. Thanks to this solution, it will be possible to save about a million tons of coal per year, and the bills will decrease by 7-8%. In addition, this winter the authorities plan to hand out smog masks, as there is a high probability that people will resort to burning garbage to heat their homes.

A side note. To heat households, Poland uses 10 million tons of coal annually. Almost half of it is provided by the country itself, the remaining 40% used to be supplied by Russia. Now Poland is looking for new sources, because since April imports of Russian coal into the country have been banned.

The region that was the first to implement specific measures to combat the energy crisis is the municipality of Ostrow Wielkopolski. From midnight to 5 am, there will be no street and road lighting. The same is waiting for the town of Ostrow Wielkopolski, only in addition to lighting, there are plans to reduce the temperature by 3 degrees Celsius (this will affect both apartments and institutions).

Other cities should probably be prepared for a similar scenario. The capital and major megacities have already assumed such a course of events, but not yet in an official format.

Also note that the Sejm wants to support the inhabitants of the country in this difficult period and is preparing to adopt a corresponding law. The act is still being finalized, so there is no exact information on this topic yet.
