LOCATION DESCRIPTION
The main historical attraction of Bar is the old town, which is located 4 km from the coast, at an altitude of 110 m above sea level. It was founded in the 11th century. This was the “heart” of Bar, from where the city began to expand towards the sea. The Old Bar aqueduct, built by the Turks, is a landmark of the old city.
A historical landmark of New Bar is the castle of King Nikola, built in the 19th century. It was a gift from King Nikola to his daughter and son-in-law. Now the castle houses a local museum with archaeological, historical and ethnographic artifacts.
The bar is also famous for its olive groves. Here you can see the Old Olive Tree of Mirovica, which is over 2000 years old - one of the oldest olive trees in Europe. The old tree still bears fruit.
An interesting adventure - diving in Bar Bay. Diving gives you the opportunity to see ships that were shipwrecked here and left at sea, such as King Nikola's ship, the Austrian torpedo ship and the German cruiser Vorwerz.
Another pastime in the Bar is shopping. Thanks to our connections with Italy, there is a large selection of shops that can offer you good prices on products from famous Italian brands.
The bar is a place where you can find everything you need for a relaxing but unforgettable holiday.
