Sárvár is a small town in the West-Transdanubian region located to the south of the Gyöngyös brook on both banks of the Rába river, the geographical axis of Vas county. The population of Sárvár is nearly 16,000, and has been steadily growing with new projects and developments with the passage of time. Throughout the years, the town has become an international tourist destination; with one of its
most notable highlights being its spas, with their famous medicinal waters. To accommodate the vast and growing number of tourists, a few fairly large five star hotels were built in the area.
The Sárvár Spa and Thermal Baths first opened in 2002, and have since won many prizes and awards. They quickly became a real pearl among the many spas of Hungary.

The Spa was awarded the first prize of the Hungarian Wellness Association in the category of Wellness Centers in 2004.
The Spa was awarded the first prize of the Hungarian Wellness Association in the category of Wellness Medicine in 2005.
In 2004 the Sárvár Spas became a member of The Royal Spas of Europe.
• Until today only 10 European spas from 8 different countries can boast this high honor.

The Spa won the EUROPESPA-med quality award in April 2007.

The most defining part of the Sarvar area is without a doubt its two completely different types of healing water upon which the development of the Sarvar Spas had been based.
In the area, healing water which springs from a depth of 1200 meters reaches a temperature of 43°C. Alternatively, the town has water which originates from a depth of 2000 meters and has a very high salt content; this water reaches a much higher temperature of 83°C.
From the 83 C° rich saline water, the famous Sarvar crystal is produced through the process of evaporation. This abundant medicinal healing water can be used effectively in the treatment of certain ailments and locomotive diseases as wel as dermatology and gynecology.The 43 C° thermal water contains alkaline hydrogen carbonates and si especially suitable for the treatment of locomotive disorders, rehabilitative care after-treatment (including sports injuries), neurological deficiencies or injuries, and finally just for relaxing muscle soothing baths.
