According to Jakub Dudziak, the spokesperson of the Polish Office for Foreigners, in the first three months of this year, the number of foreign citizens who were issued a valid permit to stay in the country increased by 21 thousand. On an annualized basis, there was a 5% increase. In total, 478.5 thousand foreigners received said status in Poland.

Most of the applicants who were granted residence permits in Poland were Ukrainians (261 thousand people). Next come Belarusians (30.5), Germans (20.2), Russians (12.9), Vietnamese (10.8), Indians (10.3), Italians (8.5), Georgians (8.4), Chinese (6.9) and British (6.5).

Jakub Dudziak also said that the majority of these foreign citizens were issued a residence permit for up to three years. In just the first three months of this year, their number increased to 291 thousand, while earlier it was only 18.6. As for the statistics on foreigners who received a permanent Polish residence permit, their number before the beginning of the first quarter did not exceed 81.6 thousand, and after that it increased to 83.7 thousand.
