Indonesia will launch “golden visas” for those who want to live in Bali. It is important not to confuse this visa with the second home visa for the wealthy, which was announced in the country last year.

Indonesia's Department of Immigration will soon launch the Golden Visa. The goal is to attract global talent in digital technology, health, research, and technology and to increase not only investment but also employment.

The new visa will be especially beneficial for long-term foreign tourists, as it is planned to be valid for 5 and 10 years.

“We hope it will attract digital entrepreneurs and foreign tourists who will create new jobs and explore our country,” said Sandiaga Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia.

The benefits that will be available to the holder of the new visa are:

  • simplification and acceleration of the visa application process;
  • the possibility of multiple entries into Indonesia;
  • increase in the length of stay;
  • the right to own assets in the country;
  • fast processing of citizenship applications.

It is not yet known what the requirements for obtaining a new visa will be and how much it will cost.
