Project in Kolasin: New standard of mountain recreation
The project in Kolasina is the largest mountain resort in the Balkans, located in the northern part of Montenegro. The project includes 23 hotel and residential buildings and 73 private exclusive chalets designed in accordance with the master plan of Ecosign, the world’s leading designer of mountain resorts. The resort is located on two levels: 1450 and 1600 meters. At an altitude of 1450 m there are 13 buildings and 45 chalets, and at an altitude of 1600 m - 10 buildings and 28 chalets. Both levels are connected by lifts, providing full opportunities for riding within a single concept. The project, being a new premium resort with ski-in/ski-out system, sets new standards for alpine recreation in the Adriatic region.
Today Kolasin is the fastest growing city in Montenegro, including coastal cities. It has become not only a place for rest in winter and summer, but also for permanent residence. In winter, the project attracts tourists with opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, rafting, skiing, snowmobiling and hiking. In summer, it offers mountain retreats, trekking, rafting, fishing, horseback riding, safari, visiting canyons and caves. The resort is located in close proximity to the national parks of Montenegro.
Facilities and infrastructure:
The project includes a wide range of entertainment facilities: more than 35 restaurants, numerous bars and shops, spas, fitness clubs and discos. Private chalets provide round-the-clock service with a personal butler and chef.
Since 2020, developers from all over the country, including the southern regions, have been actively investing in the development of northern Montenegro. The project became the main center of attraction for visitors to the northern part of the country. The high-speed highway, opened in July 2022, connects the capital and the airport to the Kolasin resort, reducing travel time to 45 minutes. The second phase of the highway, which will be completed within three years, will reduce the travel time from Belgrade to Kolasin to less than three hours.
Construction and development:
This year, the first hotel “S” (brand Swissotel) has already started operating. Three additional hotels (D, E and Q) are scheduled to be completed this winter, with R and B by the end of next year. In the lower part of the height 1600, the construction of buildings N, O, P, as well as the building "C" (Hotel B) at an altitude of 1450 m began. The new building will have a spacious spa area, and management will be transferred to one of the world’s famous hotel chains, providing a high level of comfort for guests.
