What is a Small-Family House: Features and Differences From Other Types of Housing
A small family house is a compact apartment in an apartment building, designed for small families or individual residents. A small family apartment assumes the presence of its own kitchen, bathroom (often combined), and living room. The area of such apartments is small and ranges from 18 to 40 square meters, which directly affects their affordability.
Characteristic features:
- A living room from 11 to 20 m², which serves as a living room and bedroom.
- Kitchen (3–5 m²) with a separate entrance, sometimes combined with a hallway.
- A bathroom, most often combined with a bath or shower.
- A hallway for storing clothes and shoes.
Differences from other types of housing:
- Studio apartment. In studio apartments, the kitchen is usually combined with the living area, and the bathroom can be shared by several apartments. In a small family apartment, the kitchen and bathroom are separate rooms.
- One-room apartment. Standard one-room flats have a larger area and more spacious rooms. Small family apartments, on the contrary, are designed for minimal comfort in a small area.
