Donald Trump's Real Estate: What the 47th US President Really Owns
After the elections, the figure of the newly re-elected President Donald Trump has been attracting increasing attention. This is hardly surprising, as he is not a representative of the so-called “Deep State,” where political careers are often inherited.
Trump entered politics from the business world. His father, one of the largest real estate developers in the U.S., built a multimillion-dollar empire in construction. Donald inherited this empire and made it the foundation of his wealth.
Therefore, it is no surprise that his assets range from the legendary Trump Tower in New York to elite golf clubs in Scotland and Florida. He owns some properties fully, while he is a shareholder in others.
In this review, we will take a closer look at Donald Trump’s real estate portfolio and determine whether all properties bearing his name actually belong to him.
Not Every Object Named Trump Belongs to Donald
“Trump” is not just a surname—it is a brand, and like any brand, it can be sold. However, reputation is paramount, and not just anyone can name their property after him. Before signing a licensing agreement, the Trump Organization conducts due diligence on potential partners, assessing their financial stability and past projects.
If a project meets the required quality standards, the developer pays a licensing fee and receives the right to use the name of the current U.S. president. For example, the “Trump World” project in Seoul was granted its name after a $5 million payment. However, this does not mean that Donald Trump owns or manages the property.

Donald Trump’s real estate portfolio is not limited to skyscrapers and hotels. His empire also includes an extensive network of golf clubs scattered around the world. For example, Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen (Scotland), opened in 2012, or Trump International Golf Club in Dubai (UAE), built in partnership with local developers and launched in 2017.
All of this aligns perfectly with the image of a real estate magnate that Trump has cultivated for decades. While his ownership is sometimes limited to shares or complicated by debts, the scale and diversity of his assets speak for themselves.
