Kallithea is a densely populated neighborhood of Athens and a municipality in the southern sector of the capital. With a permanent population of 100,641, it is the most populous municipality in Greece. The center of Kallithea is Davaki Square, located about 3 km south of the center of Athens, and nearby is Kyprou Square with many cafes, bars and restaurants. The neighborhood as a whole is long and narrow, stretching from Lagomidzi and Kallirrois streets in the north to Faliriki Bay in the south. From north to south, the neighborhood is crossed by Eleftheriou Venizelou avenue, with a total length of four kilometers. To the east, it borders with Andrea Singrou Avenue, which separates it from Neos Kosmos, Nea Smyrni and Palaio Faliro neighborhoods. To the west, the artificial riverbed of the Ilissos River and the metro line separate it from the Moschato and Tavros neighborhoods. Kallithea is home to the Pantheon University of Political and Social Sciences and Harokopio University, as well as to the Sivitanidios Historical State School of Arts and Professions. Also the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center is in the south of Kallithea.
