Castro Marim is a picturesque village and municipality that lies in the shadow of a 14th century castle. It is a place much visited by foreign tourists, but it has its charm and is worth a visit.
Its historic centre is interesting, and in it you will find good restaurants and imposing fortifications from which you can get a magnificent view of the saltpans, the bridge linking the Algarve to Spain and the Nature Reserve of the Castro Marim Marshland and Vila Real de Santo António, famous for its flamingos and storks.
