Namely, it is believed that the villa originally, back in the 14th century during the Great Plague, served as a quarantine for sailors returning from long voyages on the world"s seas.During the Great Plague in Venice, many Adriatic ports refused to receive ships and sailors for fear of spreading the infection.It is believed that today"s rooms in the rock were once loopholes that were the first defense of the mainland from frequent pirate attacks at the time.The villa is located on a small peninsula in Reževići, 4km away from Petrovac.
