In order to facilitate connections, in addition to the natural route of the lake and the Mincio River, which allowed rapid communication to the city of Mantua in Roman times, the so-called Via Gallica was built, which connected Bergamo and Brescia to Verona, touching precisely at the junction of Peschiera del Garda.
