The property is located in the hills of Maremma, in the province of Grosseto, near the area of Brunello di Montalcino, as well as near the thermal springs of Petriolo. Of the 80 hectares of land, 50 are cultivated vineyards and olive trees, the rest is reserved for arable land and forests. The traditional village house of 1,800 square meters in stone dates from the 15th century and needs restoration. It is located on three floors with an attic and an adjacent modern technical building. There is an approved project for the construction of a new winery with a total area of 2500 square meters. The vineyard, planted from 5 to 9 years ago, is divided into the following types: Sangiovese 14 hectares, Cabernet Sauvignon 3 hectares, Merlot 4 hectares, Sira 1.8 hectares, Pinot Grigio 10 hectares, Sauvignon Blanc 5 hectares, Fermentino 5 hectares and Chardonnay 2 hectares. Grape production: 7,800 tons in 2015, about 7,500 tons in 2016. Before the production of new vineyards, agronomic research and important works were carried out to improve the land in order to obtain homogeneous and high-quality crops.
Maremma is a vast area of Tuscany with an ideal microclimate that extends between the provinces of Livorno and Grosseto. Dante, in The Divine Comedy, defined the boundaries between Cesina and Corneto (Tarquin). The unique characteristic of the Maremma is the diversity of its territory: crystal clear sea, long beaches and rocky shores, mountains covered with dense forests, lakes and plains, green cultivated hills and natural water springs. The history of these places goes far into antiquity. Maremma is also a uniqueness of typical dishes combined with excellent wine.
