The eastern part of the wine district, where Bernhardsthal is located, lies above the beautiful Leiser Bergen and borders the neighboring countries Czech Republic and Slovakia. The east of the region surrounds the gently hilly countryside around Laa, with the only spa of the entire wine district. By meeting different cultures, you will learn very special wine, culture, and nature experiences. As the name of the region says, the Leiser mountains with the Buschberg, the highest elevation of the wine district, are part of the eastern wine district. The ideal place to unpack hiking shoes or mountain bikes.
The March-Thaya-Auen are also particularly attractive in landscape. The area is said to be one of the most beautiful and interesting landscapes in Central Europe. The two rivers March and Thaya are best explored by canoeing and kayaking. Great parts of this region form the wine road Veltlinerland.
