What is a Master Bedroom? An Overview of All Functional Zones
The term “master bedroom” refers to the most spacious and comfortable bedroom in a house, where the owners of a house with several bedrooms live. Its main feature is the combination of several functional areas: a bedroom, a dressing room, a private bathroom, and sometimes a study.
The master bedroom usually consists of several zones:
- The sleeping area is located in the center and includes a bed, bedside tables, lamps, and possibly a sitting area with an armchair or sofa.
- A dressing room is a separate room or built-in closet for storing clothes and accessories.
- The bathroom is a private bathroom with a bathtub, shower, washbasin, and toilet.
- A work area or seating area may include a desk for working or a reading area.
- A balcony or terrace is found in private houses or apartments with an improved layout.
The layout of the master bedroom depends on the area of the room. It should be functional and provide free movement between zones.
