The EU Blue Card is a residence permit for qualified professionals from non-EU, EEA and Switzerland.
An employment contract with a company in Luxembourg lasting at least six months is required to obtain the card. The proposed salary should be at least €65,652 gross per year.
The card is issued for four years. If the employment contract is concluded for a shorter period, the residence permit is valid for the term of the contract plus three months.
The program allows you to move with your spouse or registered partner and minor children. After five years of qualifying residence in the EU, including the last two years in Luxembourg with a Blue Card, you can apply for long-term EU resident status - the equivalent of permanent residence.
