Description

A rare 4-Bedroom Villa in Sotira Municipality. This amazing house is sitting on a huge plot, and is next to a green area, so nobody can build in the future next to it. All the rooms in the house have a big space, which makes it ideal as a permanent residency for a family. The house consists of a large separate kitchen, a laundry room, an attic/ storage room, a double garage and a very big garden! It is also close to all amenities of the village, 5 minutes driving from Ayia Thekla area/Ayia Napa Marina, and 5 minutes driving from Paralimni Municipality. Sotira is a town in the Famagusta District of Cyprus, west of Paralimni. With a population of 5.500 people, Sotira has taken its name from a church, situated in the centre of the village which is dedicated to the transfiguration of Jesus Christ the Saviour (Sotira in Greek means saviour). Additionally, is one of the agricultural ‘red soil villages’ (Kokkinochoria), and produces juicy watermelons, figs and pomegranates, along with ‘kolokasi’ (taro root - colocasia esculanta) - which is celebrated annually with a Kolokasi Festival in September. The important festivals of the village include the Traditional Festival of Sotira, which is held annually at the end of June/beginning of July, and the important religious festival of the Feast of the Saviour, which is held to honour Sotiros Christou annually on August 06. Visitors are welcome to join in the traditional festivities of both, which include stalls, entertainment and local food and drink.
