In September 2026, Batumi's artificial island, Ambassadori Island, welcomed participants of the Private Pilot Expedition 2026. That was 50 pilots flying 26 private aircraft from Luxembourg, France, Czechia, Bulgaria, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Poland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Their route from Luxembourg to Georgia and back covers more than 4,000 nautical miles.
The pilots landed at Batumi International Airport, where representatives of the Adjara regional government welcomed them. They then toured the island's infrastructure and construction progress before continuing to Kakheti.
The island's masterplan includes a runway for private aviation, planned for both regional flights within Georgia and international routes. According to expedition coordinator Peter Sodermans, Georgia has significant potential for private aviation and aviation tourism.
Earlier, developers HOLM Developments (Dubai) and Origami Holding (Georgia) announced investments of around $450 million in projects on the island.

Ambassador Realty Group comments: Private aviation is a new format for Batumi. It raises the status of the location and attracts high-net-worth buyers. When choosing property in such projects, we recommend assessing infrastructure timelines and construction stages separately.
