Emba is one of the largest villages in Paphos, located about 4 km north of the city of Paphos. Here you will find the ancient church of Panaya Chryseleussis, built in the 12th century. This church occupies the central place in the village square. Embe has several shops, taverns and a theater located along a narrow winding road running through the village. It is a very traditional village and most days you will see Cypriot men sitting in the street of their local coffee shops, often taking to the streets and drinking coffee, discussing life and playing a local board game of tavli (similar to backgammon in English).
