Turkey: record growth in property sales to foreigners in Antalya
🇷🇺 Citizens of Russia once again took first place among foreign buyers. In May, they purchased 268 properties in Turkey. This accounts for a significant share of the total number of transactions with foreigners, of which 1,387 were registered throughout the country in May.
📉 The overall market picture looks as follows:
— total residential property sales in Turkey fell by 31.2 percent year-on-year in May, to 93,333 units;
— sales to foreigners also decreased by 27 percent year-on-year;
— however, against this decline, Antalya shows an impressive month-on-month growth of 42 percent.
🏝 Antalya remains the main magnet for Russian buyers. The main areas of demand concentration are Kemer and Konyaalti. These locations attract investors for several reasons:
— rental yields in these areas amount to 6–8 percent per annum in euros;
— they have developed infrastructure for year-round living and recreation;
— property prices still offer attractive entry conditions compared to other resort destinations.
📈 Russians' interest in Turkish real estate has remained consistently high since 2022. Despite the overall market slowdown and rising prices, Russian citizens continue to lead in terms of purchase volumes.
💡 For an investor, this means that Antalya stands out as an island of stable growth against the backdrop of a downturn in other regions. The 42 percent sales growth confirms high confidence in this region and its long-term investment potential.
