It's official! Indonesia has added 6 countries to its visa-free list: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Macau, Turkey, Brazil, and Peru.

What does this mean in practice:
- 30 days of visa-free stay, free of charge.
- It is not possible to extend the stay. Absolutely not.
- If you need to stay longer, you can apply for a Visa on Arrival (VoA) as before (35 USD, with an extension possible up to a total of 60 days).

So, for those who live in Bali, nothing changes – the VoA, KITAS, and other procedures remain the same. However, this is great news for friends and relatives who come to visit for a couple of weeks. You arrive, go through passport control, and you're off. No need to queue to pay for a visa at the airport.
In total, there are now 20 countries on the visa-free list. For comparison, in 2020, there were 169.

It seems that Indonesia is gradually returning to its old model. This makes sense: tourists staying for 2-3 weeks should not have to pay for a visa.

For investors, this is an indirect benefit: the easier it is to enter, the more tourist traffic from the CIS countries, and the better the occupancy rates for rental villas
