This unique home for sale in Rethymno, is located in one of the most central alleys of the Old Town, close to a square. The house has a surface of 400 sqms and is developed on different levels and around a garden. The property is in need of renovation, however its walls and statics have been checked, as well as the floors.
The entrance of the property – which is found right on the alley of the Old Town – opens to a staircase which leads to a terrace. From there, there is access to the kitchen/living room area and the bedrooms, while there is separate access, through another door, to a bathroom and a small room.
The kitchen area is really spacious, has floors of high quality marble-stone that can be preserved and also has a fireplace/oven, linked to a hammam (the property is of Turkish/venetian design). The steam that is created when boiling water on the fireplace area, flows naturally towards the hammam room.
Another staircase connects the terrace with the roof, which overlooks the entire Old Town and two minarets. The ground floor has access to a backyard/garden, full of trees. There is also a basement that can be used for storage or additional rooms. In the basement there is still an area where grapes used to be crushed in order to produce wine.
The property can be converted into a guesthouse or boutique hotel, due to its size, layout and location.
