The historically relevant Villa is a luxury villa that was designed by architect Erik Lindroos and built for the industrial tycoon and pharmacist Idman in 1948.
The villa showcases some of the most elaborate and visually attractive design, being influenced by both Spanish mansions and the nationalistic design elements. Villa is homed on a private 5000+ m2 plot by the seaside, and is surrounded by a carefully designed and planned yard and garden and a jetty by the sea.
The villa is build in two floors and has a cellar floor as well. The main floor houses some very comfortable living and dining room spaces, with a library and an office adjoint. The kitchen quarter has an eat-in diningroom, and kitchen island and the domestic services close by. The main floor additionally has the master bathroom / spa , which has a woodburning sauna, a bathtub and a shower.
The upper floor has 4 separate bedrooms, of which two are of master bedroom caliber. There are 2 separate bathrooms on the private floor and a family livingroom, plus two separate balconies.The cellar comes equipped with ample storage space, a winecellar and coldroom, a separate one bedroom apartment with a kitchen galley and a bathroom and the geotermal heating unit built in 2019.
Villa has carefully renovated in early 2000, in close consultation with the architectural museum. This has created a blend of period correct details, such as some of the fixed inventories, which are elaborated with design masterpieces like the Snowflake chandelier designed by Paavo Tynell.
Kaskisaari is situated ideally on the inner islands of Helsinki, some 10 minutes from Keilaniemi and 15 minutes from the city center. Surrounded comfortably with bicycle and jogging paths on the sea, the environment is a gem for living centrally but secluded.
