Majestic castle with its own lake
The majestic castle of Golchen with two corner towers, built in 1783 and rebuilt in 1857, stands on the former Slavic ring wall (ground monument). The castle was reconstructed from 1997 to 1998.
Today, this castle is a completely restored and lovingly furnished historic building with a special charm. The castle is included in the list of architectural monuments.
The castle is located right on the lake - where you can swim. Also nearby is a smaller lake, which, like about 15 hectares of land, belongs to the castle. This is a fantastic place (natural reserve) in a slightly hilly landscape with many wild animals - hunting is possible. About 50 meters to the (own) lake, about 500 m to the Varnov River, about 15 km to the 18-hole golf course in Vorbek. The capital of Shwerin is approximately 20 km away.
